Before I ask my question I would like to say how much I am enjoying the site.
My question is about your dad's descaling tank and the ratio of Kilrock to Water if he is not using it straight.
Here in the USA I have been using a powdered sulfuric acid mixture that I was given by a local jeweler. It requires mixing with water and heating it in a ceramic "crock" pot to use. Not very friendly to work with.
Today I went looking for Kilrock K on the net as it does not appear to be available locally in rural Alabama.
I was able to find it on Amazon at the below link for $126.00 for a 250 ml size bottle.

This appears to be a mite steep in price.
Is this what your dad is using and is this a normal price?
If so, how much does he make up at a time and at what ratio?

I was told by an engineer that citric acid can be used for a pickle bath for silver soldered components available here in the United kingdom from many local pharmacists.
Kilrock is formic acid
ebay-$14 dollars a quart, mix with about 2 quarts water
Hi Charlie,
The traditional Pickle was Sulfuric Acid, but many of use with children around switched years back to safer ingredients. I switched to Citric Acid Powder, it takes a bit longer but is much safer, I have even used Acetic Acid/vinegar in a pinch.

Gerald.
So I have found my own answer. Kilrock K is an product offered in England. While it can be ordered on Amazon, with a shipping cost of less than $5.00, the Hazmat Charges drive the cost to an unrealistic amount. I will continue my search for product in this continent that has a similar make up.
