Hi everyone,
is there anybody who knows a supplier of chrome or nickel plated pipe 4 mm diam.
I am involved in repair/restoring Fleischmann/Mammod toy steam engines. They all used this piping.
Maybe I have to plate it myself?? How to do this??

I would consider using a stainless tube. No plating required.

I followed your suggestion and searched the internet about plating.
There was so much information about it I never had thought of.
The only problem here is to get the chemicals, but I will work that out.

Hi, I know this is an old thread but I would suggest plating it yourself. It's actually pretty easy if you just search "how to nickel plate" there are a bunch of tutorials on that kind of thing. The plus side is then you don't have to get specific pipe just get a regular copper tubing roll to whatever size is needed.
