Safety valves

Hi Charlotte,

Can you ask your dad what safety valve he recomends? I've watched many of his videos and remember him commenting on how he didnt like the sound of some safety valves. I'd like something that pops open and closed rather than the valves that buzz and make an aweful noise.

Well I wasted my money on a safety valve. It looks great and I'm sure it'll work just fine but after testing it with air, it turns out to be the type of safety valve that makes the buzzing noise instead of a pop type valve. Time to keep looking.

My partner passed away recently; he was a hoarder and collector of curio, and I've inherited an enormous amount of stuff. Much as it pains me I simply have to sell some of it as I am soon to be evicted and there is far more than I can possibly keep. One item of particular interest is this very old and unusual boiler. It has some very archaic features, for example it has sliding cast iron balls which can be moved to control one of the valves. I have no knowledge in this area and I've scoured the internet to no avail. There is no maker's plate, no information on it at all. Can anybody tell me anything about it? I thought it was from a steam engine, is that correct? How old is it? Who made it? What was it for? What I might reasonably expect to sell it for? Any and all information would be most gratefully received. Many thanks in advance. Hattie

Hello, repairing my sons small engine/boiler that was leaking around the sight glass. What type of seal/sealant should be used? I'm a gas engine and tractor guy, no steam experience. Thanks, Tom

Hi everybody, I am having a problem with my boiler when we start up ion the mornings, The boiler is up to pressure at 110psi and when we start up our tunnel ( lavatec LT 50 ) and the steam valves open up, a large amount of water is being pulled out of the boiler with the steam. The boiler will not fire up until the feed water pump ( new pump ) pumps enough water back into the boiler to get the water level up to the required level, during this time most of the steam is pulled from the boiler and the tunnel does not reach temperature and stays on "temperature stop". We have to stop the tunnel until the boiler reaches pressure and restart the tunnel to get it up to temperature. Anyone advice me I didn't find the right solution from the Internet References: http://www.thelaundryforum.com/forums/general-discussion/boiler-problem-t1344.html Promotional Advertising Campaigns Thanks
